Alex is hoping to return to first-team action in the coming weeks after signing a new four-year contract at Chelsea FC.
Back in training
The Brazilian centre-back, 27, has not played for the Blues since the FA Cup final in late May but is back in full training after groin surgery. "I am very happy to start again to train and feel no pain, and to sign for four more years," said Alex, who arrived from PSV Eindhoven in summer 2007. "It was easy to decide to sign and now I hope to get back to playing well. My condition now is so-so. I think in two more weeks I will be 100 per cent and can play without a problem." His is the latest in a number of Chelsea players to agree new deals recently, following from Salomon Kalou on Tuesday.
