Dykan the difference says Karpin

FC Spartak Moskva coach Valeri Karpin gave goalkeeper Andriy Dykan a mark of "11 out of 10" after the Russian side celebrated their return to the UEFA Champions League by earning a victory away to Olympique de Marseille in Group F. A late goal from César Azpilicueta ultimately separated the sides; a "nightmare" start for Didier Deschamps.

It's a nightmare. We did all we had to even if, in the first half, it was a bit of a challenge against a wall of defenders. In the second period we controlled things and created real chances but, as sometimes happens in football, we conceded stupidly when there was not really anything on. It's a poor result, especially against Spartak. Now we must recover from this bad start and hope it won't prove decisive.

My first impressions are rather positive but, even though we won, there were mistakes. We'll look at all that player by player, but if I were to give my goalkeeper a mark, it would be 11 out of 10. I'm a perfectionist and our play wasn't great; we weren't at 100%. My instructions were particularly defensive because half my players were involved in a competition of this scale for the first time. Later on we started to play when the game opened up a little more. There is a little bit of everything in this victory, both luck and logic.
