After the league phase of the UEFA Champions League concluded, 13 players had registered 50 Fantasy points or more. UEFA.com assesses the top scorers across all eight rounds of league phase fixtures on #UCLfantasy, presented by PlayStation.
GOALKEEPERS
Two goalkeepers ended the league phase with Fantasy scores of over 40 points. Tottenham's Guglielmo Vicario (€5.1m) has registered five clean sheets in his last six appearances, making 23 saves to boost his overall score to 43 points. Just one behind is Newcastle's Nick Pope (€5.0m) following a Matchday 8 haul of nine points, which included a penalty save against Paris Saint-Germain. Pope also managed the rare feat of an attacking return, picking up an assist on Matchday 3.
Always a reliable Fantasy performer, David Raya (€5.5m) showed why he remains the highest-owned goalkeeper after five clean sheets and 38 points for Arsenal. However, the biggest individual game total went to Galatasaray's Uğurcan Çakır (€5.0m), who gained 12 points on Matchday 6 against Monaco.
Premium-priced goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois (€6.1m) of Real Madrid and Inter's Yann Sommer (€6.0m) each scored 33 points, Courtois making 41 saves and Sommer keeping four clean sheets. In the knockout phase play-offs Courtois will again face Benfica and Anatoliy Trubin (€4.6m), whose dramatic headed goal sent José Mourinho's side through in the final moments of Matchday 8, taking him to eight points for the fixture and 32 overall.
DEFENDERS
Liverpool players proved to be extremely valuable over the course of the league phase, Virgil van Dijk (€6.2m) one of two players from the six-time European champions who gained the most Fantasy points in their respective positions. The Dutchman provided returns from multiple avenues via two goals, two assists, four clean sheets, 40 ball recoveries and two Player of the Match awards – earning 64 points.
Another attacking asset was Alejandro Grimaldo (€6.2m), who found the net four times during the league phase. The Bayer Leverkusen full-back also set up a goal and registered 46 ball recoveries, helping him to 61 points overall.
Rounding off the top three Fantasy defenders is Cristian Romero (€5.0m), who has a double-figure score in four of Tottenham's last five European games to make it 59 points in total. Romero's team-mate Pedro Porro (€5.0m) ended the league phase on 50 points, while Nuno Mendes (€6.3m) once again demonstrated his Fantasy capabilities with four attacking returns, 57 ball recoveries, two Player of the Match awards and 57 points.
MIDFIELDERS
As with defenders, the highest Fantasy total among midfielders came from a Liverpool player. Dominik Szoboszlai (€7.0m) played a key role in securing a top-eight finish for the Reds, recording either a goal or an assist in all bar one of his side's eight matches, helping the Hungarian international to 67 Fantasy points.
With an ownership percentage of just under 40%, Vitinha (€7.3m) proved worthy of his popularity as only Szoboszlai managed a higher tally than his 65 points. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder's strike on Matchday 8 was his fifth of the league phase, three of them coming from outside the box, Vitinha also recording an assist and 43 ball recoveries to underline his appeal ahead of a knockout phase play-off tie with Monaco.
Newcastle's Anthony Gordon (€7.1m) and Gabriel Martinelli (€7.8m) of Arsenal each scored six times during the league phase, putting both among the five top-scoring Fantasy midfielders. Fermín López (€6.7m) hit a Matchday 3 hat-trick for 20 Fantasy points against Olympiacos, the Barcelona midfielder adding a further two goals and 16 points on Matchday 7.
FORWARDS
Kylian Mbappé (€11.0m) was not only the top-scoring Fantasy forward during the league phase, his 77 points was also unmatched across all positions. The Real Madrid striker hit 13 goals in seven appearances, including two on Matchday 8 against Benfica. With the Spanish side taking on their Portuguese rivals again in the knockout phase play-offs, expect Mbappé to court plenty of Fantasy attention.
It was a lucrative league phase campaign for premium forwards as a whole, Harry Kane (€10.8m) shining for Bayern München. The England captain registered eight goals and three Player of the Match awards on his way to 58 points, while Erling Haaland (€10.7m) scored seven times for Manchester City and returned 48 points.
Even with Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres as team-mates, Marcus Rashford (€7.5m) was Barcelona's top Fantasy forward after ending the league phase with 49 points thanks to eight goal involvements. The only other forward still remaining in the competition to exceed 45 points was Victor Osimhen (€7.9m), the Nigerian striker helping Galatasaray through to the knockout phase play-offs with six goals and three Player of the Match awards in under 500 minutes of action.
