Champions League Fantasy Football: The Scout squad for Matchday 12

The Scout has picked an attack-minded squad for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second legs that managers on UCL Fantasy, presented by PlayStation, may wish to consider if they are playing their Wildcard on Matchday 12.

Premier League leaders Arsenal have four representatives in the squad, which also includes three players from Barcelona and Liverpool, two from Paris Saint-Germain plus one each from Atlético de Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and Bodø/Glimt.

Goalkeepers

Both goalkeepers selected have home advantage after 1-1 away draws in last week's first legs. Arsenal's David Raya (€5.5m) has conceded only three goals in his eight Champions League appearances in 2025/26 – one of them in the first-leg draw at Leverkusen – with five clean sheets, and he kept his 15th shut-out in this season's Premier League on Saturday ahead of the home return on Tuesday.

Joan García (€4.4m) has three clean sheets in Barcelona's last five games in all competitions, letting in only two goals, but it is the home record that is particularly appealing ahead of Newcastle's visit to the Camp Nou on Wednesday. García has managed eight shut-outs in 13 home appearances in 2025/26, conceding only five times – and never more than once in a game.

Defenders

Arsenal's defensive fortitude means that there is another double-up on their defenders for the home game against Leverkusen. Gabriel (€5.7m) picked up five Fantasy points in the first leg to make it 42 for the season; with Jurriën Timber having gone off injured in Saturday's 2-0 home win against Everton, Piero Hincapie (€4.9m) is also selected thanks to two clean sheets and 20 Fantasy points in just 271 minutes of Champions League action this season.

Pedro Porro (€5.0m) scored nine Fantasy points in the first leg despite Tottenham conceding five goals at Atlético de Madrid; a goal, two assists and five clean sheets have given the right-back 59 points for the season. Virgil van Dijk (€6.2m) is the second-highest scorer among defenders on 67 points, 35 of them at Anfield, where Galatasaray are the visitors defending a 1-0 first-leg lead.

Nuno Mendes (€6.3m) has 63 Fantasy points via two goals, two assists and two clean sheets – with his Paris Saint-Germain side 5-2 up for their trip to Chelsea, there may be space on the counterattack for the full-back to exploit.

Midfielders

Barcelona have scored 12 goals in their last three home Champions League matches and have three or more goals in each of their last seven home games in all competitions. They supply two of the five midfielders for the visit of Newcastle; Lamine Yamal (€9.9m) converted a last-gasp penalty to earn a first-leg draw and has five goals in his last five games while Raphinha (€9.3m) hit a hat-trick at the weekend to make it nine in his last nine home appearances.

Dominik Szoboszlai (€7.0m) is fourth on the Fantasy scoring charts in his position on 68 points, 31 of them at Anfield, where he has scored at least six points in each of his four matches.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€8.1m) came off the bench to score twice in the first leg, picking up 17 Fantasy points; the Georgian has 29 points in this season's knockout rounds and 71 for the season. Sondre Brunstad Fet (€4.7m) was also on target in the first leg, scoring 13 points as Bodø/Glimt brushed aside Sporting CP 3-0; the budget midfielder has 24 in three knockout appearances and 53 overall.

Champions League highlights: Atleti 5-2 Tottenham

Forwards

The attack is an unfamiliar one with no room for Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland due to a combination of form and fitness. Instead Viktor Gyökeres (€9.0m) is selected having come off the bench to break the deadlock in Arsenal's vital Premier League win on Saturday; the Swede now has 11 league goals for the season to add to his four in the Champions League.

Hugo Ekitiké (€8.0m) should lead the Liverpool attack against Galatasaray; the France international also has 11 Premier League goals in 2025/26 plus two goals and an assist in the Champions League. Julián Alvarez (€9.1m) moved up to third in the Fantasy standings for forwards thanks to 16 points in the first leg and is selected again for Atleti's trip to Tottenham, where he will look to add to his seven goals and three assists in this season's competition.
