Champions League Fantasy Football: Scout squad for Matchday 15

Ahead of the UEFA Champions League semi-final first legs, the Scout has picked a squad for UCL Fantasy, presented by PlayStation, that relies heavily on players from Paris Saint-Germain, who provide six representatives, and Arsenal, who have five, while the attacking contributions of Michael Olise and Harry Kane mean the Bayern pair are both included.

Goalkeepers

Paris and Arsenal have the two top-scoring goalkeepers remaining on Fantasy – both of whom are selected for Matchday 15. Matvei Safonov (€4.6m) has picked up 23 points across Paris' last three games and is a more budget-friendly option than Manuel Neuer for Tuesday's game – Paris have also kept five clean sheets in this season's Champions League, including in their last three games.

Safonov is on 35 Fantasy points, second only to David Raya (€5.6m) among the goalkeepers still involved. Raya's total of 62 involves eight clean sheets – including in Arsenal's last three matches – while he has conceded only two goals in six away Champions League appearances this season, shutting out the opposition in four of those games.

Defenders

There are double-ups from both Paris and Arsenal among the five defenders. Willian Pacho (€5.1m) and Nuno Mendes (€6.4m) are the two highest-scoring defenders on Fantasy with 81 and 79 points respectively – picking up 25 and 20 points apiece from ball recoveries – and both are selected for the first leg against Bayern München.

Arsenal's Gabriel (€5.8m) is third on the defensive scoring list with 65 points thanks mainly to seven clean sheets; his centre-back partner William Saliba (€6.0m) has 52 points having featured in six shut-outs. The back line is completed by Atleti's Robin Le Normand (€4.4m), whose Fantasy total of 39 points includes 22 in the last four games.

Midfielders

Paris and Arsenal both also provide two players each in midfield. Again the French champions have the highest scorer in the position, in this case Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€8.4m), whose 99 Fantasy points includes 57 in six knockout games; the Georgian has scored six or more in each of his last five games. Club-mate Désiré Doué (€8.1m) is on 60 points and is again in line to start in an advanced role at home against Bayern.

The Arsenal duo are Gabriel Martinelli (€7.6m), who will be looking for his first knockout goal after six in the league phase – the Brazilian did provide the only assist in the Gunners' quarter-final victory – and Martin Zubimendi (€5.9m), who has four or more points from each of his last three appearances. Bayern's Michael Olise (€8.3m) has 34 Fantasy points from just three knockout games, 11 of them in the quarter-final second leg when the France international scored his fourth goal of this season's competition to go with eight assists.

Great Harry Kane Champions League goals

Forwards

The Paris contingent is completed by Ousmane Dembélé (€9.6m) after two goals and 14 Fantasy points in the victory at Liverpool in the quarter-final second leg. Bayern's Harry Kane (€10.9m) is a must-have for Fantasy managers – and a strong contender for the captaincy – after 30 Fantasy points in just three knockout games, and 88 for a season that has included 12 Champions League goals, four player of the match awards, two penalties won and an assist.

Although the likes of Kai Havertz and Julián Alvarez also warrant Fantasy consideration, the forwards are completed by Luis Díaz (€7.8m). The Colombian has scored five or more points in each of his four knockout games – 27 in total across those matches – and has three goals and two assists in his last six Bayern appearances in all competitions.
