The 1964 UEFA European Championship final between Spain and the Soviet Union had the highest attendance of any EURO game, with 79,115 watching the home side take the trophy in Madrid.

Huge crowds at the old Wembley Stadium during EURO '96, and at the Stade de France for EURO 2016, came closest to breaking that long-standing record, as UEFA.com discovers.
