Significant absences
First-choice goalkeeper Gintaras Stauce, who plays for Kallithea GS in Greece, will definitely be missing, as will FC Porto forward Edgaras Jankauskas and Akratitos FC midfield player Tomas Razanauskas. Another midfielder, Raimondas Zutautas of Panathinaikos FC, is also doubtful although he has been included in Algimantas Liubinskas's squad.
International experience
The coach has recalled experienced goalkeeper Vaidotas Zutautas and Wisla Plock forward Grazvydas Mikulenas, while Under-21 internationals Edgaras Cesnauskis and Aurimas Kucys could make their senior debuts.
Two games to go
Lithuania currently lie in fourth place in UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying Group 5 with seven points from six matches, four behind section leaders Germany but having played a game more. Liubinskas's side continue their campaign with a visit to the Faroe Islands on 10 September before finishing with a trip to Scotland on 11 October.
