Former USSR midfielder Igor Kulchytskiy promised to do everything he can to help his home town Lviv gear up for UEFA EURO 2012 after becoming Ukraine's 20th Friend of EURO.
Kulchytskiy, who achieved immortality in the city when he captained FC Karpaty Lviv to their only major trophy, the Soviet Cup, in 1969, was presented with a diploma at a ceremony on Sunday. "I'll do everything possible to help our city make the best possible preparations for the tournament," said the 69-year-old. "After EURO 2012 we'll have very good sporting infrastructure, giving our children great training facilities."
