Kevin De Bruyne's thunderbolt volley earned VfL Wolfsburg a 1-1 draw against LOSC Lille after a Divock Origi penalty had given the visitors hope of a UEFA Europa League Group H win.

Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama looked set to return to France to a hero's welcome after a string of fine saves defined a backs-to-the-wall LOSC performance. The Nigerian international made a flying intervention to deny Ivan Perišić in the first half, and an even more spectacular one to fend away a Josuha Guilavogui shot after the break.

Incoming substitute Nicklas Bendtner passed up two decent opportunities after Enyeama had twice frustrated Perišić – once on the line from a corner, then after the Croatian was sent through one-on-one – and LOSC appeared poised to gain maximum value from the goalkeeper's work as they were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box. Origi stroked his spot kick low and just beyond Diego Benaglio's outstretched left hand to score.

However, a Nolan Roux miss a few minutes later proved costly for LOSC as De Bruyne met a clearance from a corner with a bullet volley that powered into the top corner, barely giving Enyeama a chance to move. However, he produced another superb stop at the death, getting a hand to Naldo's header to preserve LOSC's point.
