Collen returns to NAC

Feyenoord's Pieter Collen has left one UEFA Cup side for another after moving on loan to NAC Breda.

Second spell
It will be the second spell at NAC for the Belgian wing-back after he joined the club last season, also on loan. However, Collen only managed to play 39 minutes for his new side before seriously injuring his ankle and returning to Feyenoord.

'Regular football'
Now Collen is hoping for better luck. The 23-year-old said: "For me it is important to play football again after such a long time out. I hope that playing for NAC will make me a contender for Feyenoord when I return there next year."

Elmander link
Collen moved to Feyenoord from NEC Nijmegen in summer 2001 but has made just four league appearances for the Rotterdam side. At NAC, he will link up with another loan signing from Feyenoord, Swedish midfield player Johan Elmander.

Loovens leaving
Feyenoord have also loaned 19-year-old central defender Glenn Loovens to First Division outfit SC Excelsior. The De Kuip club, however, have retained the right to recall him during the winter break.
