Prolific striker Michael Galea has signed a new deal with Maltese UEFA Cup contenders Birkirkara FC.

Top scorer
Galea has agreed to spend two more years with the side who finished as runners-up to Sliema Wanderers FC last season. The 25-year-old has been the club's top scorer for the past five seasons and has scored 105 goals in the Maltese Premier League. He was the league's top scorer in the 2002/03 season with 18 goals.

New deals
Club spokesman Joe Abela confirmed that, as well as agreeing a deal with Galea, the club was signing a new three-year contract with defender Kenneth Scicluna. Birkirkara's UEFA Cup campaign will begin on 15 July with the away leg of their qualifying round tie against Albanian side FK Partizani.
