FC Metalurh Donetsk have completed the signing of Peruvian international striker Andrés Mendoza.
The 26-year-old arrived in Ukraine on Friday and has been unveiled alongside the club's other new recruits, Georgi Gakhokidze and Igor Lolo. Mendoza has plenty of experience in European competitions after spending the last four seasons with Belgium's Club Brugge KV.
"I hope the Metalurh fans will see top-level performances like the ones I produced for Brugge," said Metalurh's new No77. "I picked my squad number because it brings me luck, and I am hoping for plenty of luck in Europe this season."
Tiraspol to come
Metalurh take on Moldova's FC Tiraspol in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round this week. The Donetsk club have also loaned defender Olexandr Kucher to FC Metalist Kharkiv while their midfield player Toni Alegbe has sealed a permanent move to FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih.
