According to Villarreal medical chief Juan Albors, the 27-year-old is suffering from inflammation inside his left knee and faces at least another fortnight on the sidelines. Villarreal, semi-finalists in last season's competition, welcome Hammarby to the Madrigal on 16 September before the return in Sweden two weeks later.
