Bettarini, capped once by Italy last year, has also played for Cagliari Calcio, ACF Fiorentina, Bologna FC and AC Venezia during his Serie A career. Parma are third from bottom in Serie A with 19 points from 20 games, and will face German club VfB Stuttgart in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup next month.
