LOSC Lille Métropole striker Peter Odemwingie sprained his ankle during an indoor training session yesterday and will now spend around a month recovering.

The 23-year-old Nigerian has scored twice in 12 Ligue 1 games for Lille this season but did not play in the UEFA Cup group stage as he joined from RAA Louviéroise after the initial registration deadline. Lille, who are second in the French top flight ahead of its resumption on 11 January, will play FC Basel 1893 of Switzerland in the Round of 32.
