FC Shakhtar Donetsk have signed Brazilian striker Jadson Rodrigues da Silva from Clube Atlético Paranaense.
The diminutive 21-year-old is highly rated in his country, scoring 15 goals in 40 appearances for Clube Atlético Paranaense in the 2004 season. Shakhtar general director Serhiy Palkin confirmed the move for Jadson and said the club had also acquired Atlético's 27-year-old defender Iván Saraiva de Souza on a six-month loan.
Both players have passed medicals and will travel with their new team-mates this week for a winter training camp in Spain. Earlier this month, Shakhtar signed 23-year-old Paraguayan international defender Pedro Juan Benites. The Ukrainian side have no domestic matches until March but face FC Schalke 04 next month in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.
