Chatelle, capped twice by Belgium, has been with Genk since the summer of 2000. The new deal is a vote of confidence in the 24-year-old who has been sidelined since breaking his left ankle in April.
Play-off success
Genk will enter the UEFA Cup second qualifying round after defeating R. Standard de Liège in a play-off to win a European place. Genk had finished level in third position with their First Division rivals, forcing the two-legged decider.
