The 28-year-old arrives from SC Freiburg, the German club he joined in 1998 after a long and successful spell in his homeland with FC Dinamo Tbilisi. "The board in Donetsk made me an offer a month ago," Tskitishvili said. "Metalurh are rapidly developing into one of Ukraine's best clubs and regularly take part in UEFA competitions."
New coach
Indeed, a third-placed finish in the Ukrainian Premier League last season won Metalurh a berth in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup, with the draw scheduled for 29 July. Metalurh will start the 2005 Ukrainian season against FC Stal Alchevsk on 12 July, with coach Oleksandr Sevidov presiding over the campaign after replacing Vitaly Shevchenko.
