Auxerre take on midfield talent

AJ Auxerre have signed 20-year-old Krisztián Vadócz from Budapest Honvéd FC and brought Mathieu Berson back to France from Aston Villa FC.

'Big change'
"To come to Auxerre is a big change for me - I have only ever played for Honvéd," said the 20-year-old Vadócz, who described himself as a "versatile midfielder in the same vein as [former Auxerre player] Teemu Tainio." No details have been released of a transfer fee.

Berson relieved
Meanwhile, former French Under-21 international Berson has moved to the French Cup holders on a season's loan. "I feel relieved to have joined Auxerre," said the 25-year-old, who won the 2000/01 French title with FC Nantes Atlantique and transferred to Villa a year ago.

Five signings
In his only campaign in Birmingham, he made just eleven senior appearances. He and Vadócz are the fourth and fifth signings that new Auxerre coach Jacques Santini has made, following the arrivals of Thomas Kahlenberg, Péguy Luyindula and Oumar Kaalabane.
