FC Universitatea Craiova striker Alexandru Piturca, whose father Victor coaches the Romania national team, has joined PFC CSKA Sofia on a one-year contract with the option of a further four seasons.
UEFA Cup
The 22-year-old becomes CSKA's third Romanian signing following the arrivals of Florentin Petre and Eugen Trica. He could make his Bulgarian league debut against PFC Litex Lovech but will not be eligible for the second leg of CSKA's UEFA Cup second qualifying round tie against FK Hajduk Kula from Serbia. Romania meet Bulgaria in UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying next month.
