EURO hero
The 26-year-old, capped 52 times by his country and scorer of the winning goal at UEFA EURO 2004™, had been with Ajax since January 2005 and played 30 Eredivisie matches, scoring 12 times. Charisteas arrives at the the UEFA Cup contenders following the departures of Dirk Kuijt to Liverpool FC and Salomon Kalou to Chelsea FC. "I am delighted," said Feyenoord coach Erwin Koeman. "I was pushing for a new striker because when we lost Dirk and Salomon, we lost a lot of goals and assists. Angelos is strong, holds the ball up well and is good in the air." Previous clubs for Charisteas include Werder Bremen and Aris Thessaloniki FC.
