Danish midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg will miss the rest of AJ Auxerre's UEFA Cup group-stage campaign after damaging ligaments in his right knee.
Knee damage
The creative player who had nine assists in Ligue 1 last season limped off the pitch during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at RC Lens, with scans revealing serious damage to his right knee. He will not be able to return for the side who qualified for the UEFA Cup as UEFA Intertoto Cup winners until 2007.
European fixtures
The 23-year-old will tmiss Auxerre's remaining Group A games against Rangers FC, FK Partizan and AS Livorno Calcio as well as Denmark's friendly international against the Czech Republic on 15 November. Auxerre lost their opening UEFA Cup game 3-1 at Maccabi Haifa FC and are 14th in Ligue 1.
