Amanatidis absence hurts Eintracht

Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ioannis Amanatidis will miss his side's decisive Group H match against Fenerbahçe SK after damaging ligaments in his left ankle.

Expected lay-off
The 24-year-old Greek international damaged two ligaments in his ankle at the Commerzbank Arena - severing one and suffering a tear in the other - yet will not require surgery and may only miss Eintracht's next four games. The absence of Amanatidis, who has scored five goals in 13 league appearances this season, will nonetheless be a blow to an Eintracht side who can qualify for the UEFA Cup knockout stage by beating Fenerbahçe in Istanbul in their final Group H fixture on 13 December.
