AFC Rapid Bucuresti have continued their summer recruitment drive with the addition of three new faces.

Tamandaré in
Twenty-six year old right-back Marcos Tamandaré has signed on loan for the season from Brazilian club SC Corinthians. He replaces Romanian international Valentin Badoi, who has quit Rapid for local rivals FC Steaua Bucuresti. Goalkeeper Elinton Sanchotene Andrade, 28, also arrives from Brazil but has experience of European football having played for Ascoli Calcio 1898 in 2006. Rapid have also completed the signing of 22-year-old Romania Under-21 international midfielder Ovidiu Herea from FC National Bucuresti.

UEFA Cup hopes
Those three bring Rapid’s total signings to seven following the arrivals of Brazilian midfielder Cesinha from SC Braga, Romanian midfielder Stefan Grigorie from FCU Politehnica Timisoara, Cameroon forward Pierre Boya from FK Partizan and the Montenegrin defender Vladimir Bozovic from OFK Beograd. Rapid, who have qualified for the UEFA Cup after winning the Romanian Cup last season, kick off their new season on 25 July against champions FC Dinamo Bucuresti in the Super Cup.
