Tottenham Hotspur FC have announced the signing of Welsh international full-back Chris Gunter from Cardiff City FC with the move to be completed at the opening of the transfer window in January.
'Delighted'
Though no details of the transfer were released, the Premier League club confirmed in a statement that: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Cardiff City for the signing of Welsh international defender Chris Gunter." Gunter, 18, came through the Cardiff youth system and has already made 28 league appearances for the club since making his debut in August 2006. He has been capped three times for Wales, making his debut against New Zealand in May. Gunter mostly plays right-back for Cardiff but is also comfortable on the left. Tottenham will meet SK Slavia Praha in the UEFA Cup round of 32 in February.
