Heerenveen tempt Švec from Slavia

SC Heerenveen have signed versatile Czech Republic Under-21 international Michal Švec from Czech leaders SK Slavia Praha on a contract until summer 2012.

Busy season
The 20-year-old, who can play in midfield or at right-back, joins a team standing fourth in the Eredivisie. Having made his Slavia debut aged 16, he appeared four times in their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign this season as they earned a UEFA Cup slot for the spring, and has become a regular starter as they have moved to the top of the Czech league. He played every minute of the Czech campaign at last summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship finals and has continued to feature in 2009 qualifying. Slavia meet Tottenham Hotspur FC in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 on 14 and 21 February.
