Russian title-holders FC Zenit St. Petersburg have signed central defender Tomaš Hubočan as a replacement for his Slovakian international team-mate Martin Škrtel.
Škrtel successor
Zenit have paid a reported €3.5m to Slovakian champions MŠK Žilina for Hubočan, who comes in a month after Škrtel's departure for Liverpool FC. Hubočan, 22, moves to Russia's Premier-Liga on a three-year contract. He has been capped three times by his country. A product of the Žilina academy, he spent the 2005/06 campaign on loan at FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce before returning to make 36 Superliga appearances for MŠK.
