Adam ruled out for Rangers' finale

Midfielder Charlie Adam will sit out both of Rangers FC's UEFA Cup semi-final legs against ACF Fiorentina due to a knee injury sustained in training last month.

Training accident
The 22-year-old damaged his knee in a tackle as the Glasgow side prepared for their Round of 16 second leg against Werder Bremen. Although the club have revealed that the damage is not serious – the midfielder could resume training before the end of the season – an examination has confirmed Adam will not play again this campaign as Walter Smith's team look to complete a domestic and European quadruple. Rangers host the Viola on 24 April before travelling to Florence for the second leg on 1 May.
