ACF Fiorentina defender Tomáš Ujfaluši will miss the first leg of his side's UEFA Cup semi-final against Rangers FC after suffering a thigh injury during Saturday's Serie A win over US Città di Palermo.

Fiorentina say that Ujfaluši will be out of action for between seven and ten days, which also puts the centre-back in doubt for the return match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on 1 May. The 30-year-old lasted only half an hour of the home victory against Palermo before succumbing to his injured right thigh. Ujfaluši, capped 66 times by the Czech Republic, has been a key part of the Viola's success this term, featuring in 24 Serie A matches and in eleven UEFA Cup games.
