A summer signing from ES Sahel, Chermiti had to leave the pitch after only eleven minutes of the second qualifying round second-leg tie, with coach Lucien Favre saying at half-time: "This is really bad. He has been caught really badly. We think he tore ligaments." Subsequent examinations confirmed the coach's worst fears and Chermiti is expected to be sidelined for 12 weeks. Hertha won 1-0 at home following a 2-0 success in Slovenia. They will face Saint Patrick's Athletic FC in the first round.
