'Best friend'
The 22-year-old right-back was thrilled to announce that he will be reunited with former NK Dinamo Zagreb colleague Modrić at White Hart Lane, saying: "I am delighted to be here because I am coming to a big club with great players, great ambition and also my best friend is here so it is a very happy day for me." No details have been revealed of Ćorluka's contract though unofficial sources suggest that a fee of around €10.5m has been paid for the player.
Transfer request
Born in Derventa, now past of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ćorluka was discovered at Dinamo and scored seven goals in 61 league games for the club before joining City at the start of last season. He scored once in 38 Premier League games for City but handed in a transfer request after hearing of interest from Tottenham. He will not be able to play for his new club in this season's UEFA Cup, having already represented City twice in the qualifying rounds. Tottenham also announced today that striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has signed a five-year deal after completing his €17m transfer from FC Spartak Moskva at the weekend.
