Eight weeks
Sulejmani lasted only nine minutes of the big Eredivisie match in Rotterdam before limping off following a challenge with Tim de Cler. A scan carried out today showed that Ajax's €16.25m Dutch-record signing from SC Heerenveen tore a hamstring, heralding an eight-week lay-off. The 19-year-old, the Amsterdam club's first goalscorer in their 4-1 win at UEFA Cup first-round opponents FK Borac, will miss part of the group stage should Ajax complete a victory over the Belgrade side in next week's second leg. Better news for Ajax coach Marco van Basten concerns another summer recruit, the former FC Barcelona right-back Oleguer Presas. The 28-year-old also hurt a hamstring against Feyenoord but his recovery period has been set at one to three weeks.
