Manchester City FC will be without injured striker Benjani Mwaruwari for "a number of weeks" according to manager Mark Hughes, meaning he will miss the club's final UEFA Cup group-stage game against Real Racing Club on Thursday.

Injury-hit season
The 30-year-old Zimbabwean international picked up a hamstring problem in Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Everton FC and was replaced at half-time. Hughes said: "He'll probably be out for a number of weeks. We're a little bit light at the moment. A number of the guys are carrying injuries." Benjani has only made six Premier League appearances this season after being affected by a thigh knock although he has played in three UEFA Cup games. City have already qualified for the Round of 32 but can confirm first place in Group A by beating Racing ahead of the draw on Friday.
