Jamaican international striker Luton Shelton has joined UEFA Cup contenders Aalborg BK on loan from Vålerenga IF, with the 23-year-old saying: "I am convinced that the style of the Danish league will suit me very well."
Past glories
The Danish champions, who will take on RC Deportivo La Coruña in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 after finishing third in their UEFA Champions League section, have agreed to take on Shelton until the summer. The one-time Helsingborgs IF and Sheffield United FC player said: "I am convinced that the style of the Danish league will suit me very well, so that I can get back to the level from my time in Sweden and England."
Dangerous forward
AaB sporting director Lynge Jakobsen added: "He is good at breaking through, and he is dangerous in front of the opponents' goal, so by signing Shelton I feel that we have more options in attack." Shelton has scored 27 goals in 41 international appearances for Jamaica. He joins new arrivals Norwegian defender Kjetil Wæhler and United States forward Marcus Tracy at AaB.
