UEFA Europa League contenders SC Braga have unveiled Venezuelan midfielder Angelo Peña as their first recruit for next season, signing him from Estudiantes de Mérida FC for an undisclosed fee.
Big club
The 19-year-old, already a full international with Venezuela after featuring in their last three qualifiers for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, has penned a three-year deal with the northern Portuguese outfit for an undisclosed fee. "It's one of the big [clubs] in Portuguese football and a club with prestige in Europe," Peña said. "I already know what Braga are like, as I saw last season's match against AC Milan in UEFA Cup. I'm very excited." Still searching for a coach to replace Jorge Jesus, who moved to Benfica earlier this week, Braga will start their UEFA Europa League campaign in the third qualifying round, with matches on 30 July and 6 August.
