UEFA Europa League hopefuls Toulouse FC have signed goalkeeper Yohann Pelé from Le Mans UC 72 to replace FC Girondins de Bordeaux-bound Cédric Carrasso.

European adventure
Pelé has decided to leave Le Mans after eleven years and 165 league matches with the club, signing a four-year deal with Les Pitchounes. The 26-year-old has been called up by the French national team but is yet to represent Les Bleus, and admitted the lure of UEFA club competition helped seal his switch to the side that finished fourth in Ligue 1 last term. "I have never played in European competition," said Pelé. "This was important in my decision to come here. The club are ambitious."

Fourth capture
Coach Alain Casanova said of his new recruit: "He plays at a high level and has every quality we need in a goalkeeper. He should help us a lot." Toulouse, who enter the UEFA Europa League in the play-off round, have already brought in Cameroonian defender Dany Nounkeu, Antoine Devaux and Brazilian midfielder Luan this summer.
