United's Possebon loaned to Braga

Brazilian-born midfielder Rodrigo Possebon has joined SC Braga on loan from Manchester United FC, with a view to developing his game in the UEFA Europa League this season.

The 20-year-old, capped once by Italy at Under-20 level, will spend the season in Portugal having joined English champions United from SC Internacional in January 2008. He made his senior debut for United last term but spent much of his time in the reserve team. "This stadium is beautiful," he said of Braga's iconic Estádio Municipal. "I was thrilled by Braga's ambition. I had no hesitation in accepting this invitation." Braga start their UEFA Europa League campaign in the third qualifying round on 30 July and 6 August.
