Everton FC have re-signed Jô on loan from Manchester City FC, giving the Brazilian striker the chance to build on his promising four-month spell at Goodison Park last season.

Back on loan
The two clubs have agreed a deal allowing Jô to spend the 2009/10 campaign at UEFA Europa League candidates Everton, where he scored five goals in 12 Premier League games between February and May. The 22-year-old former SC Corinthians Paulista forward had failed to settle at City following his €20m transfer last summer from PFC CSKA Moskva. However, Jô caught the eye with an Everton side that finished fifth in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup final, and began pre-season training with David Moyes's squad earlier in the week.

Swelling the ranks
Nor is the three-time Brazilian international the only addition to the Everton ranks so far this summer. The Merseysiders have also finalised moves for German Under-17 international defender Shkodran Mustafi from Hamburger SV, England Under-17 left-back Luke Garbutt from Leeds United AFC, and American midfielder Anton Peterlin, 22, from Ventura County Fusion.
