UEFA Europa League play-off hopefuls FC Steaua Bucureşti have signed midfielder Cristian Tanase from relegated FC 2005 SA Arges while also accepting an offer from US Città di Palermo for Romanian international defender Dorin Goian.
Five-year deal
The 22-year-old Tanase, who has scored once in four games for Romania, has signed a five-year contract and will start training with his new side today. "There was a chance that I might lose my place in the national team if I was playing in the second division," he said. "Joining Steaua means a lot to me. I have signed for a big team who are well known internationally; a team everyone wants to play for."
Medical tests
Goian, meanwhile, has signed a four-year contract at Palermo. The 28-year-old has spent the last four and a half seasons with Steaua, having joined the club from FCM Bacau. With five goals in 27 internationals, he represented Romania at UEFA EURO 2008™ and played with Steaua in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
