A 4-1 UEFA Europa League trouncing of FC Dinamo 1948 Bucureşti has left Galatasaray AŞ hearts soaring as they look to go to the top of the Süper Lig with a win at Fenerbahçe SK on Sunday.

Derby determination
A goal from Harry Kewell and an Elano penalty either side of two Shabani Nonda strikes kept Galatasaray top of Group F, and they will now look to go into next week as the top side in Turkey too. Captain Ayhan Akman said: "It was a must-win match as we were at home. This keeps us top. We want to progress to the next phase as group winners. We scored good goals and played with great desire and now we are only thinking about the Fenerbahçe match."

Squad rotation
Galatasaray are without a win at their Istanbul rivals' home in nine years, but should be fresh for their upcoming trip to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, with coach Frank Rijkaard resting four key players from the side that beat Trabzonspor 4-3 at the weekend. "We have enough capable players to enable our coach to rotate the squad," said 32-year-old defensive midfielder Ayhan approvingly.

Nonda grateful
The squad rotation policy allowed Nonda a rare start, which he seized with both hands, thanks to two killer passes from Kader Keita. "If I make a contribution, then I feel better," said the DR Congo striker, who added of his Ivorian team-mate Keita: "We are good friends off the pitch and you can see how well we get on when we play together. Now we want to win at the weekend to go top of the Süper Lig."

Bucharest rematch
Dinamo, meanwhile, will look to restore some equilibrium before the rematch on Matchday 4. Centre-back Gabriel Tamaş, who played for Galatasaray in 2003/04, said of his old side: "They are a very good team with a lot of experience. We were very dissappointed with the score but Galatasaray played well. It will be different in Bucharest. It is a strong group and we want to qualify along with Galatasaray."
