FC Shakhtar Donetsk forward Olexandr Gladkiy has joined Premier League rivals FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk for a reported fee of €7m.

The 22-year-old has agreed a four-year contract at his new club. "I heard about the Dnipro offer on Monday," said Gladkiy, capped eight times by Ukraine. "Everything was decided in three hours. On Sunday, I could not even have imagined I would be moving to Dnipro. However, I am delighted with this transfer."

The Ukrainian league's top scorer with 13 goals for FC Kharkiv in 2006/07, he notched 28 more in 82 top-flight fixtures following his move to Shakhtar in the summer of 2007. Dnipro take on KKS Lech Poznań in the UEFA Europa League play-offs, starting on Thursday.

Meanwhile, 24-year-old Shakhtar midfielder Konstyantyn Kravchenko, a key player at Dnipro before heading for Donetsk two years ago, has switched to another Ukrainian side, FC Illychivets Mariupil, on a six-month loan.
