FC Twente goalkeeper Sander Boschker has signed a one-year contract extension which ties him to the Eredivisie titleholders until summer 2012.
Barring the 2003/04 campaign, when he joined AFC Ajax but did not make an appearance, Boschker has been at Twente since his debut in November 1989. Though he has been largely dislodged by Nikolay Mihaylov this term, the 40-year-old has played in three Eredivisie fixtures and in total has made 546 top-flight outings for the Enschede club.
His European involvement this campaign has been restricted to a 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur FC on UEFA Champions League Matchday 6. Twente's next assignment is to defend their 3-0 UEFA Europa League round of 16 lead at FC Zenit St Petersburg on Thursday. "I am happy that I will still be part of this club next season," said Boschker. "FC Twente and me know we can count on each other."
