Rondón ruled out for Rubin until December

FC Rubin Kazan could be deprived of in-form forward José Rondón for the remainder of the UEFA Europa League group stage after the 24-year-old suffered a foot fracture on Sunday.

FC Rubin Kazan forward José Rondón is set to miss the rest of the UEFA Europa League group stage campaign after fracturing his foot on Sunday.

The 24-year-old, a scorer in last Thursday's 5-2 matchday one victory over NK Maribor, was on target again on his return to domestic action at the weekend. He broke the deadlock against FC Tom Tomsk but was forced off midway through the second half as Rubin lost 2-1.

Tests revealed a broken bone that rules him out until December and may yet require surgery, a major blow to the Venezuelan international who had scored eight goals in his last seven outings for club and country. Rubin's last Group D game is away to SV Zulte Waregem on 12 December.
