Dynamo Kyiv face Thun rematch

FC Dynamo Kyiv have an old score to settle as they take on FC Thun in UEFA Europa League Group G, with the Swiss side having eliminated their Ukrainian opponents en route to their biggest European achievement.

Previous meetings
• In their run to the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League group stage, Urs Schönenberger's Thun eliminated Leonid Buryak's Dynamo in the second qualifying round. The sides drew 2-2 in Kyiv before Tiago Bernardini's late goal handed Thun a 1-0 win in the return fixture in Berne.

• Dynamo took just a point from their two opening Group G matches and have won only one of their last five home fixtures in European competition.

• This is Dynamo's third UEFA Europa League group stage campaign; they made it all the way to the quarter-finals in 2010/11 but failed to reach the last 32 the following season.

• Thun are competing in the UEFA Europa League group stage for the first time, having lost to Stoke City FC in the play-offs two years ago. Coach information
• Oleh Blokhin has been coaching the club he graced as a player, Dynamo, since September 2012, stepping down as Ukraine coach for a second time after leading them out as co-hosts at UEFA EURO 2012. The European Footballer of the Year in 1975, Blokhin won eight Soviet titles and two European Cup Winners' Cups in a glorious spell at Dynamo from 1969 to 1988. He started coaching in Greece but returned home to help Ukraine reach the 2006 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals.

• Urs Fischer took charge of Thun in November 2012 following a long spell working with FC Zürich, where he was in charge of various youth teams before becoming assistant and then senior coach. The centre-back made a record 545 Swiss league appearances – over 300 of them for Zürich, where he played his first and last games. In between, he captained FC St Gallen and was capped four times by Switzerland.
