Valencia CF defender Philippe Senderos is out of Thursday's UEFA Europa League round of 16 second leg against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad after picking up a hamstring strain.

The 29-year-old Swiss international scored his first goal for Valencia in last week's first instalment in Sofia – a 3-0 win – but failed to train on Tuesday after club medics detected a problem with the centre-back's right leg. The former Servette FC, Arsenal FC, AC Milan, Everton FC and Fulham FC defender is expected to be sidelined for up to ten days, ruling him out of Thursday's encounter against Stoicho Stoev's side at the Mestalla.
