UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla FC have reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the services of attacker Iago Aspas, who will join the Liga side on loan subject to passing a medical.

Should he impress at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in the coming campaign, the 26-year-old Aspas – signed by Liverpool from boyhood club RC Celta de Vigo for around €8.2m last summer – could be rewarded with a three-year Sevilla contract with the added option of a fourth season. Aspas was limited to 14 Premier League appearances for Liverpool last term, having previously scored 46 goals in 136 league games for Celta between 2009 and 2013.

Sevilla will defend their UEFA Europa League title from the group stage in 2014/15. Unai Emery's team face Real Madrid CF in the UEFA Super Cup in Cardiff on 12 August.
