With seven points from a possible nine in UEFA Europa League Group I, Salzburg are well on the way to reaching the round of 32 for the fifth time in seven group stage attempts. They maintained their momentum with a 2-0 win at Konyaspor last time out.

Previous meetings
• Konyaspor's first encounter with Austrian opponents resulted in their heaviest European home defeat as Salzburg took the matchday three honours thanks to an early goal from Norwegian striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen and a late second from in-form Israeli import Munas Dabbur.

The 51-year-old enjoyed his most successful times at Antalyaspor during a five-season stay (2008–13). In his last season, Antalyaspor recorded a famous 3-1 win against Fenerbahçe, ending the Istanbul side's 47-match unbeaten home run.
