Lacombe battles on at PSG

Guy Lacombe has vowed to carry on as coach but admitted Paris Saint-Germain FC have a serious problem as they hover just above the Ligue 1 relegation zone.

'More serious'
The UEFA Cup side stand one spot from the bottom three after securing only 19 points from the same number of games this season and Lacombe spoke out after PSG's 2-1 home defeat by fellow strugglers Valenciennes FC on Saturday. "I am not a resigned person but this defeat shows that the problem is more serious than we had thought," Lacombe said.

Toulouse next
Lacombe added he would stay in charge at least until Wednesday, when PSG host Toulouse FC in a rearranged league fixture. Toulouse have been boosted by their surprise 2-0 home win against league leaders Olympique Lyonnais on Saturday and Lacombe said: "You will find out on Wednesday whether I'm the right man in the right place."
