FC Spartak Moskva have sealed a new four-year deal with 23-year-old Russian international winger Vladimir Bystrov, binding him to the club until 2011.
New deal
The player's existing contract was due to expire in 2009 but this has now been superceded by a new deal which will expire two years later. Bystrov, who joined the Moscow giants from FC Zenit St. Petersburg in 2005, is one of Spartak's most exciting players and has scored 12 goals in 56 league games since his arrival. He has also scored twice in 16 international appearances for Russia. Runners-up in the Russian Premier-Liga in 2006, Spartak missed out on a UEFA Champions League group stage place after losing to Celtic FC on penalties in the third qualifying round. They will now look to earn a place in the UEFA Cup group stage as they start their first round tie against Sweden's BK Häcken on Thursday.
