Celtic's Guidetti and Armstrong on Inter draw

"It's unbelievable to come off the bench and get the equaliser," Celtic FC's John Guidetti said as he and Stuart Armstrong took in the 3-3 draw with FC Internazionale Milano.

John Guidetti and Stuart Armstrong reflected on an astonishing evening in Glasgow after Celtic FC twice came from behind to snatch a 3-3 draw in their UEFA Europa League last-32 first leg against FC Internazionale Milano.

Sweden striker Guidetti was the hero on the night, climbing off the substitutes' bench to end a ten-game barren run by scoring a spectacular equaliser in added time against a side coached by the manager who gave him his debut at Manchester City FC, Roberto Mancini. "It's unbelievable to come off the bench and score the equaliser," said Guidetti, 22, who is on a season-long loan from the English champions.

"The bench is a horrible place to be. You get so nervous and my stomach was all over the place. I thought we were unlucky to go in a goal behind at half-time and [my] goal was so crucial because it's feels like we're still very much in the tie. I am so grateful to Roberto for what he did for me earlier in my career. It was nothing against him, but this is my club just now and my job is to score goals for Celtic."

Armstrong also admitted to pre-match nerves as he prepared to make his home debut following the midfielder's recent move from Dundee United FC. The 22-year-old played a key role in Celtic's revival from two early goals down, slotting home Adam Matthews's centre before forcing Hugo Campagnaro to score an own goal which levelled matters at 2-2 midway through the first half.

"It was like nothing I have ever experienced before," Armstrong told UEFA.com. "The noise before the game was incredible. If we hadn't got something out of the game, I might have felt different. Before the game I just wanted to play well and give a good showing of myself, but to contribute towards two goals on my home debut is something special."

It has been a whirlwind start for Armstrong since joining Celtic, having also netted on his Scottish Premiership debut for the Hoops. But playing and scoring against one of his childhood favourites has confirmed he made the right decision in signing for the Scottish champions.

"The European games are something special and were a big part of wanting to come here," he added. "I watched Inter Milan as a young boy and to play against a club that size and to score against them is incredible. We are very optimistic now about going to Milan and we have to have that positive attitude. We're optimistic and hopefully we will get something out of the game."
